September brings the last month in the third quarter of the year and signals that Fall is coming. It is truly amazing that we are this far into 2020. It has definitely been an interesting year. On top of us powering through the Corona virus, we have had some really shocking deaths and have confronted and learned about civil unrest. I don't know about you, but I am ready for things to calm down, for people to love and care about each other like they want people to love and care about them, and for people to live life fully without worrying about Covid 19.

How to Write your Own Vows
Traditional wedding vows are very structured. Your vows don’t have to be! Here is a template to help get your creative juices flowing.
1. Say "I love you."
2. Tell your partner you'll be there through thick and thin.
3. Share personal stories.
4. Actually make intentions.
5. Acknowledge the support you'll need from others.
Wedding Vow Tips
1. Don't wait until the last minute. Have your vows written at least three weeks prior to your wedding date.
2. Make a list of all your thoughts.
3. Write up to three drafts.
4. Don't try to include everything.
5. Avoid words like "always" and "never."
6. Embrace sentimentality and don't worry about being cheesy.
7. Go after laughter.
8. Get inspired with books, songs, movies, and poems.
9. Practice reading out loud.
10. Indicate pauses and intonation.
11. Ask a trusted friend to listen and edit.
12. Make a fresh copy of your vows for the ceremony. Please consider reading them from vow books your officiant can hold until it's time. aesthetics matter
13. Keep the vows a secret from your partner until the ceremony.

September Special Days
Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day falls on the second Sunday in September. It was initiated by West Virginian Marian Lucille Herndon McQuade.
There are three purposes for National Grandparents Day:
- Honor and acknowledge grandparents.
- Allow grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children.
- Help children become aware and remember the strength, information and guidance older people can offer.
Mrs. McQuade initially intended for Grandparents Day to be a family day. She envisioned families enjoying small gatherings, perhaps even a family reunion, or participating in community events. This is another opportunity to spend time together and create memories.
